In case you haven't seen it yet, click here for Daily Mail story: "What does The Man From U.N.C.L.E have in common with Lady Thatcher, Ronald Reagan and Bill Nighy?"
It's an article about a condition called Dupuytren's contracture, but really, it's an excellent story about David, the oboe, fitness, and the hand surgery (and massages!) he had.

Carrying One Another
Hard to find a comfortable position sitting, but writing a report is hard to do standing up. Waverly would probably not mind if I finished it later, but I wanted to get it done so I could go home and—
“Here you are.”
“And there you are,” I deflected. “Just on time to watch me to finish a report. As usual.”
“I might have helped you with it—if I had known about the mission in the first place.”
I sighed, sat back. Mistake; pain flared up my back. I countered my involuntary twitch by standing up quickly and taking my jacket off the coat hook. “I thought you could use a holiday,” I said lightly.
“Thanks.” His smile was knowing. “And I thought you could use a ride home.”

This must be the correct word for today? (Even if it has snowed higher than our fence during the night, my magic wand doesn't work (not even a puny spark today) and we must drive to a family gathering soon... :)
The word for today is holiday
All the best - relax and enjoy this winter's day, or this warm day, wherever you are!

Hello all! I had created a file for myself with people's profiles (identifications) and locations, and with ongoing computer problems it has disappeared. I have tried searching by tag but my computer freezes constantly and I'm afraid I will punch its lights out before I get anywhere. Could anyone point me to a location containing this information? Thank you, thank you!
added: all I mean is something like "GabiD -- Illinois". I seem to remember something like this being done within the past two years but can't locate it. I used it mostly to try to keep the Cousins straight, as my memory certainly can't be trusted anymore. Thank you!

"Wake up, Illya! It's Christmas!"
"I'm a communist. I get to sleep in."
"Just because the Soviet Union doesn't celebrate Christmas there is no reason you can't."
"This may be your tradition, Pasha, but it's not true everywhere."
"It's not?"
"No, my American friend, the Orthodox celebrate it on January seventh. So I should be able to stay in bed for twelve more days."
"Twelve more days, huh?"
"Assuming you stop talking, of course."
"I have an idea. I'll show you my traditions today. Then we can rest up for eleven days and then you show me your traditions."
"Now, that works."
Happy holidays everyone!!
Here's the picspam/review of Faith, a little late because I didn't plan better and I'm on someone else's computer:

... but still pretty short. Blame it on too much coffee and being snowed-in. Merry Christmas, y'all!

Blessings to all, with wishes for sugar-plum dreams of Napoleon and Illya!
He might have been prepared to start a revolution at the bourgeois party he and Napoleon had attended on that silly Love affair, but no skinny blond Communist was going to tell Napoleon Solo that he could resist a Christmas turkey dinner with all the trimmings. A man of the proletariat Illya might claim to be, but in this first year of their partnership, Napoleon had yet to see anything but an equal-opportunity approach to food.
So what was he to do when said blond showed up on his doorstep with a large brown paper grocery sack full of Wun Hung Lo's spiciest take-out?

My thoughts goes to all of you who have trouble with the weather today - I've seen on the news that I'm not the only one experiencing snow storms and bad weather. I hope you all have a peaceful day despite this!
Today's word, perhaps a tad general, but if you have time for a drabble, it might give you associations?
